Help with Splitting OTA HD Signal

849 Views 5 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  DM2006RI
Hi everyone,

I have a Channel Master 4228 antenna with a CM 7777 Titan2 preamp running to one HDTV set.

We're adding another HDTV set in the next week or so and I was wondering what I need to split the signal and run it to the new set we're adding.

I don't know if I need another CM product, a distribution amp, etc. Any suggestions would be welcome

one 2 way splitter rated to at least 1000mhz installed off the "to tv port" of the preamp powersupply with a short piece of coax. dont spend more than 5 bucks either! nothing fancy or gold colored.

distribution amp not required.
Anything rated at at 750 MHz or above will suffice for OTA.
Rick, thanks -- my problem, though, is that the TV is on the other end of the house that we're adding.

The main line from the antenna runs near it...is it possible to split the signal there, add another power supply, or put the original power supply there instead of near the other, older HD set?

Exactly what you should do. Rick was simply saying put the split AFTER the power supply. If it makes sense to move the power supply, have at it!
