I have the panasonic dmr-hs2 and I have several VHS tapes that I want to archive and then put on dvd-r. Such as the old Star Wars collection. Does anyone know how to get this done? I have tried a product from Sima called the video copy master but the panasonic still give the message "this material cannot be copied"

Any help wouyld be appreciated!

The Sima Color corrector is the product you are probably looking for (not sure what the video copy master is).

It's supposed to remove the copyright signals to allow you to record the material.

Neither Sima product (Copy master or SCC) will work with the HS2 because they don't remove CGMS which electronically interlocks the HS2's recording circuitry. You need a filter which removes CGMS as well as Macrovision to do backups with the Panasonic recorders. Search the forum for the appropriate filter black box. Here's a link to one product.
