Folks:

I need your help pronto ! I want to run Media Center and Itunes at the same time. My wife is having a tree triming party this afternoon. She runs Itunes on the Media Center computer to play her Christmas Music. That's completely okay by me.

However, I want to run Media Center muted so I can watch my hometown Falcons trounce the Packers and then watch my adopted hometown Eagles trounce the Bears.

I searched high and low for a solution folks, but found nothing. Your help would be greatly APPRECIATED !!!

(I guess I don't perform well when my wife pressures me... If they only made intellectual Viagra !)

If you were running J. River Media Center, you could definitely do this; I'm not sure it's possible, or if so - how in Win MC. Generally, one application will take over the sound device you choose. I'm guessing you're finding either the video app's sound is being output, or neither is? You might be able to try running MC and/or iTunes in non exclusive mode, but again, I don't know how to do that with those software packages.

Sorry I can't be of more help; I figured I'd bump the thread for a man in urgent need, at least.

Connect one source via the analog outs.

Connect the other source via HDMI.

Windows Media Player (NOT WMC) allows you to select which source uses the WMP feed under (I think) the options tab.

So you can watch the game on WMC via HDMI and then play the music via itunes or winamp via analog.

I had this problem before and this is the only answer.

Thanks. I undertand what you are saying, but I have the sound going through a USB digital audio out to my amp. I would have to pull things apart.. and the WAF would go to zero (people are already here...).

We'll watch the Eagles for about another 20 minutes then switch to Christmas music...

Many thanks for everybody's efforts !
