Help with what speakers to buy

Hello everyone,

I’m looking to get a little advise on some used speakers I’m looking to purchase. The first set of speaker I have the opportunity to buy are 2 B&W FPM5’s & 1 FPM6 for $275 total. The second set is a 5.1 KEF 3000 series for $325. I’ve owned several B&W speakers in the past and I’ve always loved them but I’m torn between the two sets that I’m looking at. I’m just going to be using them for part time movie watching in the basement and replace the old 5.1 setup. For $50 more I’d be getting 2 more speakers and a sub. I have a sub now so I would probably sell one or the other and recoup some money. Just looking to see what others would think is a good purchase. Thanks for your time.

I'd go with the Kefs. I am not a fan of B&W, having owned them in the past. They don't go for a flat, accurate sound.

Every B&W I bought in the 80s still sounds good and is in use daily by myself, friends and family.

Total of 7 speakers.

My vote. I respect B&W but I dunno about that thin stuff. Small/thin speakers, the sub will help a lot.
