HELP, XBOX 360 VGA Cable - Picture much to dark

3467 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Bomberman
HI people,

I connected a Sony KDL-40V2500 LCD and my XBOX of 360 so far with the Componet cables. Property me a Snakebyte Premium VGA cable added, with hope to represent that the picture still more sharply.

The dissolution I adjusted to 1360x768 and then there is only the reference level. There are three attitudes, which only lightly differ.

Had the feeling, which is still pleasant/brightest normal.

Even the Dashboard is partly too dark, so you can see your changes at the Settings, which isn't much.

Thus which I used the VGA entrance, many adjustment possibilities at the TV are not selectablly, thus remain me only background lighting 8/10, contrast 98/100, color 62/100 and brightness 48/100.

Even if I wind the brightness up, the black color become rather Grey\\fading a little....

Someone ideas???

Thanks Guys

Calibrate your set on the VGA input. Something like the THX optimizer on a Star Wars movie would work well.

With Calibrate you mean to changes the settings yourself or is there an automated way?
Try all the "Reference Level" options in the console settings.

For more details, see the Display Section on xbox.com
Yeah BKchurch means to adjust your settings using that disk, the THX optimizer basically goes thru like a wizard setup so you can adjust your contrast and brightness manually.

Reading about your TV I noticed that in the troubleshooting page it states that if you get a dark picture you should adjust the Picture Mode options in the picture settings, also if you set the power saving mode to low or high it will enhance the black level.

Hmmm couldn't find the Picture Mode Options?

Right now am very disappointed and the old cable attached for the moment. Runs perfectly!

Noticed when I attach the Laptop to the VGA Port that i also use the brightness with 58.

But the whole attitudes of other members are nearly configured to 30. Amusingly, what Did I differently adjusted???
