I have an 80GB Zune connected to my stereo through the remote controlled charging base. Yes, the amplifier can be cranked up enough to have the sound output ok through the stereo speakers. However, I have the tape out of the stereo going to a whole-house audio distribution system. This is where the problem lies.

When I play CD's or TiVo out through the whole-house, the sound to the house speakers is acceptable. When I play the Zune, the output to the house speakers is too low. Yes, I have the volume on the Zune cranked to max. I have all three sources (CD, TiVo, Zune) going into a switch selector box which feeds into the CD input of the pre-amp as I don't have enough audio in ports for all the various pieces of equipment.

I'm wondering if adding a speaker amplifier before the switch box on the Zune source will increase the final output volume to the house speakers? I suspect that the Zune's headphone out just isn't providing enough input voltage to the pre-amp for sufficient output?

Thanks!

Try switching connections going into the switch selector box?
