What's with the "@@@" in all of your post titles?
I agree. Given the lack of specs and exactly what the outputs will do, say each hdmi at 1080p 60, one for each of two left eye, right eye projectors, little can be learned from the report. I don`t think even one exclamation mark is warranted. but hey those ! and @ don`t cost anything.
Saw the new models at CES last month. The Panny rep said their top o'the line model would MSRP under $500, possibly under $400. The players had two HDMI outputs: 1.4 and 1.3 (the former can be connected to a 3-D capable display while the latter can be run to legacy audio gear). The connections can be used individually or together (they're both active simultaneously).

The rep boasted that the players boot up in less than half a second. To demonstrate, he went to a player that was off and pressed the Eject buttom. Sure enough, the drawer opened instantly. I immediately pushed the Off button, but it took about 8 seconds of pressing for the player to turn off. I asked him why it took so long, and he sheepishly admitted that it was still booting up. So much for the instant boot-up.

OK, so it's just the drawer opens in half a second. Takes a few more seconds before it's ready to play a disc. Still faster than anything else out there, including my Oppo.
There is a revision to the HDMI 1.4 standard that will be issued shortly. Called HDMI 1.4a. Hard to believe the new player will meet something that doesn`t exist yet.

Q. What is the difference between HDMI 1.3 and HDMI 1.3a, or 1.3b?

For consumers, there is no difference between HDMI version 1.3 and 1.3a or 1.3b. These minor revisions to the specification typically relate to manufacturing or testing issues and do not impact features or functionality

Steve us one of the finest people you will ever meet. He does get a little excitable over anything to do with HT, especially audio.

"liyyle exitable"?

There is a difference between "excitable" and "exitable".

The first lasts much longer than the last.

Mark, despite your advanced age and triple bypass, you are still "excitable" and not "exitable" so you wife says.

Your wife left a lasting impression on me (she was with Free, not me). Cute. Nice. Smart. Still got her?

(See if you can top that!)
So, is 3D just marketing or the real deal? I am still in $60K 2 channel with 720p Fujitsu 50".

Yeah, she is having a hard time getting rid of me. Of course your wife must really be a saint to put up with all your tweaks and upgrades!!

These new Panasonic blu-ray players better not have a fluctuating black level.
