Why not just perforate the areas for the speakers? The sides would be way off the main viewing area, and although the center may be right where you would notice a difference in brightness (centered, near the bottom 1/3), I bet the gain in brightness overall would outweigh any perceived differences.

Those of us with CRTs trying for the bigger screen sizes need all the help we can get, and I think you could perf a very small area and cover the sound and visual requirements.

Can this be done in a custom order?

Currently - Zenith 7" CRT, 80x60 1.3 gain screen

Soon to be - 107x60 1.3 gain...with ?Seleco 250 with Panamorph or "cheap" 9" CRT

Microperf causes a slight but noticeable reduction in gain, to not have it uniform across the screen would cause "Darker patches" where the speaker holes are.

As akm3 mentioned...you would see a slight patch of gray from the viewing seats. When the full screen is perforated, the ten percent shade of gray is uniform through out the whole viewing surface and it can not be detected.

Akm,

My email is out of service. ( My power mac with MS outlook will not talk to our internal nertwork server) Please direct your email to [email protected] It looks like it may take a while to get my email up as our computer people are at the end of thier rope in trouble shooting this problem. They want me to get rid om my Mac. Oh no.

Thanks cotton....I do love my Mac...Great draw programs.

The big problem is getting teased by others about having a Mac. You get a complex about it after a while.

We are also getting a complex about the electric power problems too.

Don

Richard...only 90 days and its Cedia again. Please stop by the booth.

Regards,

Don

<cough> New I-Book <cough> http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/biggrin.gif Cheaper, lighter, better looking that PC notebooks.

On the other hand I do all of my graphics work on a PC and it works fine for me, obviously all the Adobe stuff is available for the PC and I find that there's not much difference between the two. What are you using that's only available on the Mac?

BTW, I just sent you an e-mail, but I guess I will private message you instead seeing as your e-mail is flaky...

Regards,

Kam Fung
