When I am in either video mode and look at the LCD panel, the light looks correct (i.e. things are as bright and crisp as with my eye), but changing to the photo mode darkens the picture considerably.

Does anyone else have this behavior? Try it in a well lite room and switch back and forth from video to photo mode and see if you lose some light in photo.

Thanks.

Well done example hsbsitez, thanks, that is about how I see it myself, question is why. Upon more scrutiny on mine, I can say that the light in the video mode(s) are a little brighter than actual and the photo mode is considerably darker. So far, this seems to only be indoors, but it is arguable.

Just in case I went a little too far with my individual mode settings (as I can't say I noticed this early before I started making adjustments), I did a reset to default and the difference is still there.

So far, I think it would be better to film indoors and take a screenshot like you did, idk.
