Hi everybody. I've been a lurking for a while, now it's time to come out. Does anybody have any experience or opinion's on the A.D.S. SW500 subwoofer. How does it

sound for music and home theatre? I have an oppurtunity to purchase one used with a

cherrywood finish for $250.00. Thank's for your time! Danny

Hi Danny,

I don't keep up with the model #'s, but I like ADS speakers in

general.Is the SW500 new? I think if you need a sub and the price

is right...go for it. You can do a lot worse than ADS. Listen to

it if you can.

Hi Matthew, from what I could find out, this sub is discontinued, ADS doesn't even carry it on their website any more. I went ahead and bought it anyway, it sounded pretty good to me. It has a twelve inch driver in a bandpass enclosure with a 250 watt amp. The finish is thick veneer cherry which will need to be refinished, which I look forward to doing. It goes down to 22 Hz. with authority, although to me, it sound's a little bit loose. For my first sub it's not a bad deal. The only info I could find on it was in 'The Essential Subwoofer Buyer's Guide' by Widescreen Review. They gave it a pretty good review, 3.8 out of a possible 5. It originally cost $1500.00, so $250.00 was a steal. I've posted to 4 other forum's about this unit, with no information from anybody else. It's almost like this sub never exhisted. If anybody has any info about it I would appreciate it.
