Has anyone yet put the Yamaha YOPA to a serious measurement test of its frequency response analysis and corrections? Hopefully someone will do a high res, spacial average analysis of the YOPA to see what it is really doing. Obviously a minimum resolution of 1/3 octave (hopefully 1/12th or greater in the LF) before and after, repeatedly, to see if the YOPA analyzer is consistent. There are three significant possible weak links with this (and the Pioneer): Only one mic/one position; microphone quality; inaccurate analyzer creating inconsistent results. Also, there is just no way I am going to trust it for speaker distance or speaker polarity.

This could be promising if it can at least do a reasonable job at timbre matching of LCR, and handle boundary effect issues. It might start to do the job for the sub/LFE, but my guess is there won't be enough filters to handle it . That's okay, as an outboard PEQ can handle that.

Please post your results. If I get hold of a Yamaha, I'll accomplish and post.
