I understand how the Bravo upconverts NTSC content to either 720p or 1080i,

but my question is: how does it handle a ROM full of jpegs? If I loaded a

disc of static pictures that had 720 lines of resolution or 1080 lines, would

it be able to display such pics with no compression or scaling, or does it

shoehorn all images into a NTSC standard frame of 480 lines, and then

upconvert the resulting image? It be nice if we could use this player to

display 1280x720 or 1920x1080 pics with 1:1 pixel mapping for a given display.

Well since no one here offered an answer,

I went directly to the source, and got this

response from V Inc tech support:

--

"By default we always display 720x480.

So if you have a jpeg picture that is small the 720x480 we upscale to this resolution then scale to any resolution that you want to display.

Other the other hand if the jpeg picture is bigger than 720x480 we downscale to this resolution then scale to any resolution that you want to display."

Bummer.
