Hi,

I am putting in a high end home theater, Theta, Aerial, Sony VPL-VW 600ES, Panasonic 65' plasma and probably Kaliedescape. I have a home office down stairs with a Cisco E4200 router and a Comcast Arris TC862. In the new HT room upstairs what should I install in the equipment closet to connect and update all of these components? I ran a Cat V cable over this room a couple of years ago. Thanks much for your help!

Any simple Gigabit Ethernet switch will be fine. The only piece in that list that actually needs any real bandwidth would be the K-scape server.

Thank you, I forgot to mention I have the Sony 4k server also.

Well that's a little "minor" detail...

You're still probably fine, but perhaps at least a "name brand" inexpensive switch (Gigabit) would be in order. You're sill in a low port-count, single-chip switch solution, so the internal switch bandwidth and design won't come into play.

I just bought one of the highly-rated Asus routers myself. Very happy with it...
