high resolution audio albums?

Is it me, or does high resolution audio seem to be limited to classic rock albums, jazz, etc. I don't see many new music albums creating high res copies. when I say high res, I mean SACD, Blu-Ray audio, or DSD digital downloads, etc. I see some that hit HD Tracks, but those seem to be 44.1/24 which isn't much different than what a CD is recorded at (44.1/16) is it?

High resolution recording didn't start until 1998, so anything recorded before then, isn't high-resolution. It is digitized to a high-resolution sized bucket that is padded with zeros.

Most recordings that you can get are still not high-resolution. Very few labels really offer that. Take a look at AIX Records, 2L Records and Naxos for examples. I would be surprised if HD Tracks has any more than a couple of hundred REAL high-resolution recordings to offer.

Doing some Google searches, for best Sacd's, is a good way to go for good music directions.

Classical may have the most releases. Check out: https://www.hraudio.net
