I updated to XP (well, most call it an upgrade) and I noticed HiPix doing a little video stuttering or frame skipping occasionally when watching the HiPix via tuner or file playback. The computer is a VIA chipset with new drivers and an 1700 Athlon cpu w/256mb of memory. Also, I have 160Gb of striped hard disk space. I did not notice the problem when running win2k with the ACPI turned off but XP complained with this setup and so ACPI is enabled. Does the HiPix need a dedicated IRQ and if it does, how do you *see* it in XP? I am not sure why M$ had to remove the resource viewer or I don't know where it is hiding :) to see if there is any conflicts. The HiPix device driver as well as all the other device drivers are showing all ok, so I am not sure what is causing the problem. The cpu and hard disks seem to be idling so I am not sure if it is my card the MB or what? Any ideas? Everything seems to work great except for this - btw, I am running RC1 with a fresh install and no other apps are on this unit.
