HiPix hookup question

246 Views 3 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  Kei Clark
I have a HiPix card coming this week and I was wondering how this card is connected into my HT. I plan to connect the PC along with a STB to a RPTV via a component switcher. Looking through the online TeleMann lit I see a VGA connector on the HiPix card that goes to a VGA cable or BNC connectors or RCA connectors. I take it that there is no component (YPrPb) connections via the HiPix card. And that I will need a VGA transcoder. Also, how does this card connect to my g/c (GeForce 3)?

TIA

Ken,

For visual diagrams of HiPix configurations:

Note the breakout cable can be a VGA to RGBHV with RCA adaptors on the ends, using only the R/G/B.

Kei,

Thanks for the info. More questions. I've read a little about Powerstrip and what it can do. I take it that I will need this piece of software for my HTPC. Also, when attempting first light with this new setup is there anything I need to be aware of that could destroy my RPTV?
Ken,

Highly recommend using a monitor for set-up as leaving the TV hooked up a non-compliant signal for too long can cause damage.

Karnis published a great reference guide for using PowerStrip, which can be found at:
