I've got an old P2-400, and a Matrox G400 video card laying around and I wanted to use this for my HiPix machine. I won't be doing anything else but recording and watching HD. Am I crazy? Will the P2-400 be fast enough to handle it? Will the ATA33 interface be enough?

Thanks in advance.

It should work. I ran my HiPix on a PIII-450 until a recent CPU upgrade. In one of the Beta;s, they upped the default priority to "high", which helps considerably at the lower CPU speeds. ATA33 is also fine for HiPix play and record.

I originally ran my HiPix on a P2-333 with ATA33/5400 RPM hard drives and it was fine (aside from the limitations of the early HiPix software). Channel changes were just slower.
