I have just finished building my first HTPC. But I can not get the video card to fill the screen completely. These are the card and TV

HIS H575FN1GD Radeon HD 5750

SamSung DLP TV HL-R5067W

I'm connecting them through the HDMI connections. If I use any resolution other than 600x800 I have to 'forec' the change through the advanced feature on the video card driver to up the refresh speed to 60khz. I defaults to 29khz without the force. Also I get a lot of screen flicker when I move the mouse out type on screen.

I want to be able to use the full screen size to watch DVD's and BD movies from the BD drive I put into the HTPC.

any suggestions?

Thanks for a quick reply.

I'll give that a try. This TV can only display 1080i not 1080p. dose that make any difference when used as a computer display.

Also, when I use Vista sp2 WMC to play dvd's will is send out a 1080i signal, or will it send out a 600x800 pixal signal that the desktop is currently set to?

Thanks

Why don't you go into Catalyst Control Center and attempt to set output to match your TV resolution?

The HIS driver software did not come with the ATI Catalyst. It is some kind of HIS front end stuff with ATI driver in the background. I could download it directly from ATI and see what happens. But what is the equivalent driver resolution xxxx X xxxx for 1080i?
