Are there any Hispanic or Latino HD channels in North America ?


Are there any announced plans for future ones ?


Has Univision said anything about HD ?

Since NBC owns and originates Telemundo, it seems they would have the infrastructure to do it.

How much of the Univision and Telemundo programming comes from Latin America and other countries? If most of it, then it does not make much sense for them to go HD until those programs start getting shot in HD. I know Europe is in the long process of upgrading to HD, but I don't recall seeing any articles on what the plans are, if any, for the Central and South American countries.

I would definitely like to see some of the programming in HD. Audio? Meh.

Telemundo's Zorro is shot in HD. Univision's telenovelas from Televisa are also shot in HD but we get them in SD. Peru, Chile and Colombia are also shooting in HD but on air they transmit in SD.

Univision ought to go HD in time for the 2010 World Cup... that's my expectation, anyway.
