I'm using a Comcast / Motorola Dual-Tuner DVR High-Definition Set-Top DCT6412.

Hitachi 51F510

I have encountered a problem with my component video input block #1 & HDMI 1 input has same fuzzy picture quality.

The PQ has died this past weekend - VERY blurry / fuzzy picture - like looking at analog signal on a 100" screen.

I have switched to component cables on video input #2 for the time being.

Does anyone know if the video input blocks are "USER" plug n play replaceable?

It is Hitachi part# JT24475R DP43 SIGNAL PWB

OR ...

Are there adjustments that can be performed within the service menu to correct the PQ of the HDMI input?

So component #1 is fuzzy, but component #2 is Ok? That is VERY VERY unusual. I could understand if you said hdmi is fuzzy but component is Ok, or something like that. But a different picture from comp1 vs comp2 goes against everything logical. What is "fuzzy"? Post pictures...

ok let me clarify ...

'fuzzy' is my HD channels w/HDMI and/or input #1, show fuzzy, blurry picture - like opening your eyes under water - and blooming - bleeding colors.

I went so far as to call the cable company and request a new HD box.

Cable guy arrives, goes thru a miriad of tests on the current HD STB - finds no change in PQ.

Hooks up a NEW STB - no change in PQ.

Tries new component cables - no change in PQ.

Tries new HDMI cable - no change in PQ.

He's quite puzzled now.

I have my dvd in the #2 input as in the photo ...

the PQ from the dvd is perfect!

So I switch the dvd to input 3 via S video.

Then go to input #2 with component cables from STB - PQ is perfect!

I can't understand why input #1 is such bad PQ and input #2 is so perfect.

Most of all, I WANT my HDMI input working!

The part # I listed above is $283.

Do I pull the trigger and buy the video input block?

Or do I have an adjustment available in the service menu of the RPTV?
