In the Oct. 24th Sunday paper insert: Clearance for Hitachi 57F500 and the 51S500 at less than $1k each.


I don't know anything about these units. Too bad I bought a Panny RPTV over the summer, or I would be on this bargain now. Hope someone can take advantage of this bargain.



PS - Missed the no prices rule, although I thought it applied only to Internet and local store pricing (which may not be available everywhere). This is from a national ad, so price is legit. But I edited the post anyhow.

Both of those are discontinued 2003 models, but I'm sure a forum search will turn up some threads.

Good luck finding one. Also keep in mind the ad says that these could be open box, floor models or new in box. I tried locating some at several stores in MI with no luck. I was told by one sales associate that a few stores might have the floor models.

And for the record, when I joined AVSForum, I agreed to abide by the forum rules (as did you and reddwarf). And while it's really none of my business, I guess I find it somewhat irksome that reddwarf would so blatantly piss on the hospitality of AVS and the other forum sponsors. If you've got a problem with that, then you'll just have to deal with it.
