Over the past couple of weeks, this forum has gotten me very interested in the Hitachi CRT RPTVs.

I've read a lot of good things about the F series, but nothing about the X series.

Particularly, how does the 65X500 stack up against the 57F510? Do either of these TVs handle analog signals well? I haven't really been able to see a decent analog feed in stores.

I'm not particularly interested in the S series because I don't need an integrated HD tuner.

Thanks for any information.

The X series sets are hard to come by, they are the Hitachi Director Series which are their current Top of the Line sets. The F series is their lower tier value series of sets. The X is definately the more desirable set if you can find it and swing the price, but the F is also making a lot of people happy around here so it's worth a look.

I'm not sure what the pan on the F sets is here? Does a wonderful job of giving DVDs a filmlike quality. When looking for my 57 inch F series set I did a search of about 100 mile radius around me and never saw an X set all the time I was looking. Now if I had found one it might be in my living room :)........
