Secrets of Home Theatre on Jan !5 posted a news release from Hitatchi about its new 55" plasma, 20% larger than a 50" for a lst price of 9900! Is this accurate ? At that list it may be available for under 8000. I guess prices are really dropping!

I spoke with a hitachi dealer and was told that $9,999 msrp is their target price, but that it's not etched in stone. Also, it probably won't be available until the 3rd quarter of this year.
