I have looked at all the sites that I know of and the best deal on the 7200 I can find is $925 shipped. If anyone knows of a cheaper place please let me know. Most places that I saw it cheaper at had all expired or were out of stock. Is it foolish to get a model that has been discontinued? Is there that big of a difference between the 7200 and the 7300?

The 7200 could be found for about $825 when there was more availabe supply, like 2-3 months back. But now the supply is more scarce so, $925 shipped with sales tax and shipping is a fair price. Comparing 7300 to 7200, the following are the primary differeces of 7300 vs 7200:


1. 7300 has more power of 10W/CH For actual power output check out the November Sound & Vision magazine review.

2. 7300 has more inputs for component (3 vs 2) and digital (8 vs 6)

3. 7300 has video transcoding

4. 7300 has Faroujda DCDi video processor

5. 7300 has dual audio DSP

6. 7300 has Dolby Pro Logic 2x, Dolby Headphone, Dolby Virtual Speaker

You could also watch for Harman's auctions on ebay. I snagged a remanufactured 7200 with the same warranty as the new for $625.00 about 6 weeks ago. Looks and functions like new.

how do you know its specifically an auction from Harmon? Also does the 7200 have the ability to upload from an MP3 player?
