HK 7200: left channel is 23dB lower than others.

I've had my HK 7200 for about 2yrs now. I have noticed that the left channel has slowly been declining in volume ever since my move from Maryland to Florida 5 months ago. When I first set my system up when I got here I noticed about 9db difference. Now all off a sudden there is about a 23db difference. I can't even adjust the speaker levels to compensate for that big of a difference. I am guessing that something must have gotten rattled during the move. However, I did pack it in its original shipping package.

Has anyone ever experienced something like this?

Is your receiver still under warranty?
no, I'm about 4 month out from the end of my warranty. :(
try switching speakers to make sure you haven't blown a speaker first.
Yes, I've switched out the left speaker and cable with the same result. I think I might open it up to see if there are any obvious blown components. I wish HK could provide me with a schematic so that I could troubleshoot it myself. Anyone have any experience troubleshooting their own equipment?

Unfortunately, it sounds like it's a problem with your receiver. Are you or do you know anybody who is electronic saavy? My brother-in-law fixed my HK reciever by replacing a capacitor, which he diagnosed using his equipment. Otherwise, you may have to send it to a repair shop, if you are not interested in getting a new receiver.
You mean front left channel right? As an interim solution you might switch your cables to send your back left channel to the front left speaker. If you only have a 5.1 setup this could be a permanent if imperfect solution.
I had the same thing happen on my AVR510. I opened it up, and it looked similar to the inside of an ATX PC chassis. I removed all the cards and cleaned the contacts. I also cleaned up the routing on the wires. All channels have been dead even ever since. Watch the capacitors, and do not misplace the cards in their slots. Without a schematic it is hard to tell what is live, unless you leave it unplugged for a while.
