Need your opinion on the 2 receivers?

Going to be using on the Axiom Epic 60 speaker system &

probably with a powered SVS or HSU sub!


5000 stated has more power but I figured the HK would be better?

I am a big fan of the H/K AVRs. For my ear they sound terrific. The 630 is being replaced with the 635 soon which promises to be a significant upgrade and may be worth waiting for unless you are getting a great deal on the 630. I have heard good things about the higher end ES products but I don't have any first hand experience with them.

It's a wonderful piece of gear. To be fair, I have also heard good things about the 5000ES and 9000ES.

The 5000ES is a great receiver. Listen to it for yourself and you might end up buying it.

I've heard the 5000ES and it sounds awsome with the Def Tech gear It had hooked up to it. The HK I'm sure would be good too but i haven't heard it yet.

HK has already announced the pricing of the 635 will be the same as the 630.. However the 630 will be available at discounts if you can find stock. The HK AVRs have all been sold out so one must check their local stores for any available inventory if any....

The AVR 635 is 100% worth any extra money you would have to spend. Ive had a chance to demo this unit and had a few chats with the National HK rep regqarding it. I understand you wanting to save a bit and mabye go refurb or something, but I would suggest waiting and going with the 635. Just my .02

YEAH, that's what I decided if I can get one in the next 3 weeks!

My HT will be done by then!!!
