I have an HLM507W with the FLI2300, DNIe, firmware rev of 204 and a manufacture date of Dec 10, 2003. This set does not default to wide when you switch between inputs, it remembers the setting you had it on the last time you used any particular input, except after using PIP. When you come out of PIP the set defaults to wide. I wonder if the HLN's will also do this, I only mention this because of all the claims that default to wide has been fixed. For those that do not have this set, there is an aspect button on the remote to toggle through the various settings (4:3,wide,panorama,zoom1,zoom2). So when the TV defaults to wide it's not that big of a deal, but there have been claims that this has been fixed and at least on mine this fix is not 100%.

yes, that is the correct behavior for the new internals. Trust me, it beats having the other problem (always defaulting to wide).

Ya, I don't doubt that, but it just makes me wonder why they fixed this behavior in all places but one. They obviously knew it was an issue but for some reason they didn't fix it for exiting PIP. Oh well, I don't use PIP much anyway. Thanks teekster

Probably overlooked, like it was overlooked the first time around. I use PIP more and more so it is a little irritating, I can probably program around it with my Harmony remote, but it is going to be much tougher than if it didn't default to wide.
