I just bought an HLN567 about a week ago.


Tonight I've heard a very strange buzzing from the TV.


Even with no audio signal going to the TV, and the volume of the TV set to zero, I was able to hear the noise.


The noise began at startup and was consistent for about 10 minutes, and then intermittent for about 10-15 more.


My wife has heard this noise once before but neglected to tell me.


Its definitely coming from the TV as I can turn off all the other A/V equipment and still hear the noise.


I'm not sure if the TV is picking up interference from something, or if there is some other problem.


I searched the forum for issues with fans and color wheels and did not find anything.


If anyone has had a similar problem I would really appreciate some insight and advice.

If the noise stops within a few seconds after shutting off the set, the color wheel is most likely the source.


If you bought the set from a local B&M store, you might consider just exchanging it for another one, rather than going through a repair experience.

Sounds like you are having the same problem I did, I have the Samsung HLN5065W. From your description it does sound like the color wheel.

Eventhough the TV is suppossed to have in home warranty service I agreed to let a 'local' service company take my TV last Tuesday. Surprisingly they just called are on the way with my TV - not too bad. They claim to have replaced the whole light engine .

Samsung was actually pretty good about this situation -just had to give up the set for a week....surprisingly enough I got some reading done.

I would agree about trying to do an exchange if possible.
