I just recently got a HLN567w with 302 firmware. I also have an Pioneer DV-440 DVD player that does not have progressive scan. I have the DVD player in Component 1. Whenever I watch a movie with a screen door or blinds or something that has many parallel lines it distorts the picture and can even cause problems with movement through that area. I was wondering if other people have had that problem with the TV or if it is a problem with the DVD player

I'm no expert but... I suspect this is a result of you DVD player outpuit 480i and your sharpenss being set way to high...


There is plenty of info out there about anything horizontal (like hoizontal blinds) when moving up/down the screen in an interlaced picture generates a lot of "noise" along the edge. having your sharpness way to high will enhnace this (most sets have thier sharpness way to high from the factory).


Have you "tuned" your set using Avia/VE/DVE or anything?

No not yet. I was just so impressed with the TV that I did not think it needed it, but I guess I will have to.
