My 2 week old HLP 5063 makes a "wind up" type sound when you hit the power button as the color wheel (I assume) starts up. Is this normal? After it starts up, it is fairly quiet, maybe a little bit of noise that's in addition to the fan.


When I turn the TV off, I can hear it spin down...


Does anyone elses do this??

Should be considered normal unless it is has a loud almost grinding sound. Otherwise, you are fine.

I hear it on mine. I think this is normal.
