Hong Kong movies

I'm wondering if any Hong Kong/China distributors have joined HD DVD. I'd like to see Shaolin Soccer, Kung Fu Hustle (and other Stephen Chow, Hero, HOFD, and even though its Korean, Oldboy.

There's an Oldboy out there already, but it doesn't have English subs. Anyone know who distributes these movies in other regions?

Maybe the newer titles like you mentioned would benifit from the HD treatment, I recently sold most of my Hong Kong movies in SD to start my HD collection
Off the wall stuff like Battle Royal and Story of Rickey, classic Jet Li stuff like Fung Sai Yuk and the Once Upon a Time series, John Woo movies actually worth watching, Better Tomorrow, Hard Boiled, The Killer, 'real' Jackie Chan movies, Drunken Master, Police Story, City Hunter (Ok that one is a stretch
), a small selection of Shaw Brothers, basically a great collection of Hong Kong and Fu movies that I paid a whole lot more then Blockbuster gave me for them, but I simply didn't watch them anymore, really hadn't since college, so I'm not sure I'd pursue them in HD if they were even released, maybe the odd one, but there is something about watching a fu movie full of grain, funny sub titles and bad sound effects, not sure the experience would be the same if they were all tidied up

Now Bruce on the other hand, I'd love to see Game of Death or Enter the Dragon cleaned up and in HD, man that would rock... imagine Bruce vs Kareem in HD?

Yeah, BR and Ichi the Killer would rock. Haven't seen too much classic kung fu though, but I sure wouldn't mind having them available.

BTW, Enter the Dragon is already available in HD DVD. Game of Death, depends on which version, since that movie was never completed, and some of the patch ups are reaaallly bad (floating cardboard heads anyone?). But bring on fists of fury and chinese connection.
Just great... there you guys go again costing me money
How do I miss these things?

Hey I thought WB was going release Inferno Affairs around the same time The Departed?

DJoel
Infernal Affairs is owned by the Weinsteins through their Dragon Dynasty label. They haven't announced any HD DVD releases of Dragon Dynasty movies yet.
