I have some old computer speakers and sub. I'd like to know if I can hook these to my Samsung 46b650. The speakers and sub are Altec Lansing ADA885 and these kick arse on the computer.


The speakers plug into the sub and I noticed the sub has a SPDIF connection. I don't have a receiver, so I'm wondering if I can run a SPDIF cable straight from the sub to my Samsung and if so where would it plug in on my 46b650.

it is worth a try...the optical or digital coax output from a TV is usually only for the internal ATSC tuner (for over-the-air broadcast). Many TVs will downmix and pass through digital aubio from a DVD player or set top box, but the downmix is stereo only.
