I have some Klipsch speakers ( klipsch.com/na-en/products/promedia-gmx-d-5-1-overview/ ) that I want to hook up to my TV. The problem is that pod (Digital preamplifier and control module) is broken. The other problem is that with the last TV I had you could only turn it up and down with the pod (no way to use remote) but that TV only supported fixed audio out and no variable audio.

The speakers all plug in the back of the Bass (regular speaker wire) and from the bass it goes to the pod which then went to the TV/computer. The bass also has a SWS link out switch.

I was wondering if I can plug the speakers into the bass and plug the bass directly into the TV through the SWS switch or is that for the bass plugging into a reciever only. Not really experienced when it comes to hooking up speaker systems. If I do need a reciever, which is a good CHEAP one for the speakers I have.

I really doubt that the audio output of the TV is capable of driving speakers without an amplifier.
