A friend of mine just got a Loewe Aconda (31" I think), and he wanted to use it as his PC monitor (he doesnt use the computer very much, and wanted to save room).

He hooked it up at 640x480, 60Hz but only gets out of sync noise (I cant verify he actually switched to 640x480 as I wasnt there, but he said he did).

What else would we be missing? I know the scan rate needs to be at something, but how can you set the scan rate in windows?

He also mentioned that the Windows startup screen works, but it all turns to sync-noise when it gets to the desktop.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, get a pcmonitor and boot with that, now go to the screen properties and in advanced select 640 x 480 60Hz 32bit.

Disconnect the monitor and connect the tv, it should work. XP has minimum res of 800 x 600, you have to dig it out.

bye
