Come on D*, in 2006 we want:

TNTHD

StarzHD

INHD

Regional Sports Networks - HD

MTV HD

FOX HD

National Geographic HD

Outdoor Life 2 HD

HGTV/FOOD HD

VOOM HD

Playboy HD

And whatever else I am forgetting.

Actually, E*, and all the cable companies should pick these up as well. The more competition the better. (Yes, I know that E* has some of these already as do some of the cable companies.)

I'm curious. Does anyone from D* who could do something about this or who doesn't already know of your desire to have every HD channel available actually read this forum and see your message?

I sure hope you emailed your request to D*. I'm confident that will guarantee that your wishes will come true.

what you WANT and what you GET may be radically different
I want 1920x1080i on everything we already have. Add TNTHD, CimemaxHD and starzHD and Ill be happy.
Here's my holiday/end of the year wish/hope from D*: that with the deployment of the next batch of birds and continued rollout of MP-4, '06 brings us reinstated bandwidth/resolution, without reduced dynamic range/filtering. I've tried to cut down on the naughtiness and made an effort to be a good (patient) sub D*, so please give me the stuff I want! If you simply supply me with a nasty old lump of coal, your churn factor will rise by one...

Screw VOOM off that list the OP had..but definately add Playboy-HD.....:D

Already done through a phone call and regular old mail. I doubt that doing that guarantees anything, who knows.

I want full rez/bitrate HD on what we have - even if we have to lose a couple channels. Then don't add any more unless that can be maintained - if it can, add as many as possible.

What Panther said, full rez/bitrate HD, thats all I want..

I currently pay $30.00 a month for the 4 HD nets out of NYC, (Im ashamed to pay even that, but I have no other recourse outside of Canadien DBS) and thats all I will ever pay for until they offer real HD..

They could add 100 HDLite Nats and I would not pay for them, or any of their new equipment, unless it was real HD..

As long as were on the subject of rez/bitrates via D*, does anyone have any rez/bitrate info for the current MPEG-4 offerings?

All the people smart enough to figure out and provide that data, are smart enough not to live in one of this country's 12 largest DMAs. :)

Seriously, I'm extremely curious what the deal is with the MPEG4 channels. It would be a reasonable assumption that if they are 1280 channels right out of the gate, that's likely their plan.

Yep, I have been really curious about this for awhile now...

Im a bit suprised that this info has not yet surfaced..Im sure theres probably a logical explanation as to why though, and I would like to know what that explanation is.

Anyone have any ideas?

Amen.
i just want less shopping channels, and give that bandwidth to the other channels. i cant get cable in my area, so cband 4dtv stuff looks good right now and cheaper for programming. no dvr though except HTPC that i know of anyways.
Let's have the shopping channels in HD. That will help the HD WAF and make it easier for all the guys to get new plasmas. And when will TCM be in HD? This should be the next HD channel added before all others.
I'd like to see DirecTV spend a little money on a Customer Service group that can at least state the same information two calls in a row....sometimes I wonder if their CSR department is run like a work-at-home phone sex operation...
