horizontal lines on Marquee 8000

257 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  leggwork
My relatively new-to-me Marquee 8000 has started displaying horizontal lines on the screen when it is playing DVDs. I'm currently using a Playstation DVD player until I get my proper HTPC finished. When the playstation boots up the image looks normal. When I start playing a DVD I get lines across the image that look like a blue venetian blind overlaid on the image. If I look in the tubes I can see the lines on all three colors but blue is the brightest.

Any clues?

thanks,

bruce

What year is the Marquee? Does it do it on all on inputs?
Guys!

What input is that signal fed to? If S or composite, you might have a bad decoder section.
it is a 1994 vintage Marquee.

This signal is feeding into the RGBHV inputs from a jury-rigged HTPC (while I'm working on the good one) - the capture/display card is an ATI Rage something.

I went away from using the composite input because I had trouble keeping a stable sync. If I use the service menu to switch to 15.75 khz frequency, the grid test pattern jiggles all over the place (creating what looks like 3 lines for every real line). Higher frequencies are stable.
