Horizontal Masking Control ?

That is quite a system you developed. It looks like it works very nicely.


I was looking at the Stewart masking systems. There is a $1700 price difference between the masking screens that have one memory vs. 4 memories for multiple aspect ratios. As long as the Stewart motors move slowly enough, I bleieve that a small controller could handle the two motor drive mechanisms. It just seems like a lot of work to do it this way.

Awesome masking system setup. I think I will try and tackle this one myself =).

One thing that doesn't show in the diagram are the side panels or masks. These are frames made from 1x2 lumber with black velvet stretched over them. The end result is that the picture is completely surrounded by deep black. The speakers are mounted on the wall and the side frames have cutouts for them. Becuase everything is black, nothing shows.


I hope to develop the site further to show these things. It's a tragedy that the DrapeBoss motors are no longer available. They were perfect with their 8 programmable stops. Each button on the X-10 remote control can be a different aspect ratio, and randomly accessible.


Maybe someone will bring them back on the market.
