not sure where to put this post, but I need to absolutely get this off my chest.


For various personal reasons, I will not be able to make it into New Orleans for this weekends huge Divisional matchup against the evil, Bin Laden-esque Iggles. The best way to dull the pain, however, was finally buying that FP I'd been eyeing for the past 3 or so years (started with the L300U, ended with the Z5).


I placed the order for the projector on Tuesday. I'm 99% certain I can't mention the site, but let's say it's a MAJOR seller of the projector (you can probably figure it out from PJCentral). It was the cheapest and had great ratings, so it was an easy choice.


I not only wanted to be certain to get it for this week's playoff games, but I was simply extactic to have a FP, so I had it second day aired. It would end up being well worth the ~$80 extra.


The first problem is I didn't get a confirmation in the email as it said I would. I sent an email stating as much with an attatchment of the receipt. No biggie, I figured, as I had been charged for the order in my bank statement.


I never got a reply from the first email, thus no confirmation. Then Thursday came, no Z5 (or ceiling mount or HDMI cable which I had ordered as well). I send a second email. Nothing to freak out over, I'd made the order at around 1:30 their time, so they probably just didn't have time to get it out that day, and would probably arrive the next day.


But it didn't. I would call them, but I just recently made a move to a new apartment and left my cellphone in New Orleans (I've been quite busy and don't feel like spending the 3 hours driving there and back just to make that call when I really don't need the phone for anything else over the next two weeks).I wait until the end of when I'd expect UPS/FEDEX to deliver (about 4:30) and send them a THIRD email. This would be 2:30 their time, 3:30 hours BEFORE they close. No response.


So now, instead of watching not justthe playoffs, but the biggest game in my teams history in 110" HD glory, I'll be watching it on a 20" backup SDTV. What an absolute joke. I feel like headbutting someone in the tit.

There my "friend" is where you went awry in your story. Just b/c you and your team fear the Eagles(rightfully so) there is no reason to throw a hated terrorist name in front of them. I mean it is the aints first playoff appearance in 7 years! So I can understand the motivation in seeing this game in HDTV and in 110 inches no less! But I would see this as a sign from your {insert religious choice}. He/She/It does not want you to bear wittiness to the slaughter that will be coming 8PM Eastern Standard time on Fox. He/She/It figures you watching the game on a 20" SDTV might lessen the heart break a little, and also lessen the temptation to smash your new shiny Z5. So you should see it as a blessing in disguise

I too was thwarted by a certain online projector retailer who screwed up the order enough so my new projector couln't be delivered today as planned. Gotta wait till tuesday.

It was VisualApex. Not only do I still not have it, but I STILL haven't received a reply from the 3 emails. My only guess for the horrible CS is that they're all in Vegas for CES.

I ordered my Z5 from an eBay seller and paid $75 to have it shipped quickly (total s/h cost). The projector was shipped on the afternoon of the day I ordered it and I received it the next afternoon. It traveled from California to upstate New York on DHL.


I was very happy! Not sure if they sent it DHL Same Day or Next Day or 2nd Day

She suggested Fed Ex ground (free shipping) would only be 2-3 days from Fla to Louisiana and they would deliver on Saturday. Would ship the next (Wednesday) morning.


Got an email on Wednesday afternoon after work. shipping Address & billing address on card did not match and couldn't ship.


Complete bull. Checked my account and $8XX had been charged to my card that morning by Proj People.


Called them and my account "specialist" had left for the day, projector would ship next morning (thursday) if CC info could be "verified" after giving them the card 800 number.


I left specific instructions for my account "specialist" that I wanted to make sure I would have it for the weekend and to call me first thing in the morning. Left home phone # again and told wife to make 2nd day arrangements for shipping and left my cell # so I could be contacted at work if needed.


Never got a call. Called them a 10:30 AM (my first opportunity to get away to make call from work) and projector had already been picked up by Fed Ex. Can't change shipping method. have to hope it makes it by Sat.


Get home thurs evening. Check tracking info.... Scheduled delivery Next tuesday. Fed Ex Ground does NOT deliver on Saturday. You have to ship via Fed Ex Home delivery for Sat Delivery. Pro People used the wrong Fed Ex service.


All she had to do was call and talk to my wife or call my cell and I would have paid for 2nd day air.


Not the end of the world. But was given wrong info on shipping transit times and projector was shipped with the wrong service to get Saturday delivery anyway. Not to mention the stupid delaying tactic of the address verification not matching.

Stacey is the one you spoke to last night. She sent your info in to accounting and they are calling trying to get approval to ship the order. They wouldn't give us permission to ship it yesterday with that address. So we will call the banks 800 number to see why there was confusion.


Once the bank gives us the approval, the product will ship out. It takes 2-3 days from FL to LA. So they will attempt delivery Saturday or Monday with the current ground shipping.


If you need to guarantee it before the weekend, please let me know. We will have to ship it overnight (guaranteed Saturday is even more expensive for air shipments), and the cost is $75.

I just called Fed Ex and they do *not* do Saturday delivery with ground shipments. I wish you would have called me this morning instead of sending an email that I didn't have access to until after fed ex had picked up the order. Which is why I asked you to call me in the email ( I left instructions with my wife to get it doen for Fri or Sat Delivery) and why I left my cell phone number with Stacey to contact me at work so arrangements could be made for delivery on Friday or Saturday. It would have taken 5 minutes


I realise it's not the end of the world, but my plans for the weekend are now shot.


So, we learned that:


1) Fed Ex does not deliver ground shipments on Saturday. You should revise your information.


2) Your address verification software/method needs to be updated. In the last five years I have ordered literally hundreds of thousands of dollars in merchandise and supplies online and over the phone for my business with that card and have never heard that excuse before.


Since PP states on its website that address verification is a possible delay for orders I assume this happens on a regular basis. You should ask for the 800 number on the card as part of your order taking to eliminate the problem.


This could have been handled better. Regardless, I hope I like the projector.

FedEx does delivery to residential addresses on Saturday, I'm positive about that. I don't know who told you they don't at FedEx, but we have hundreds of customers a month that receive on Saturday and that love that feature. Did you give them your zip and that's what they told you? Maybe they don't delivery to your area on Saturday because it's remote?


I didn't call you because Stacey said she spoke to you are everything was taken care of. Dianny and I couldn't reach you by phone or email during business hours on Wednesday, I didn't think yesterday would be any different.


If you are not in a remote area, you may want to call FedEx again. Their policy to residences is Tues-Saturday delivery because they find more people home on Saturday. UPS is still just Monday - Friday.

You know... this you really could have just apologized for the delay and aknowleged that you should have called my cell phone to make arrangements to take care of it, and this debate would be over.


I'm wasn't asking for freebies or a discount because the order got a little messed up. And yesterday I was resigned to getting it next week because there was really nothing I could do since it had already shipped.


But if you want to continue I will show you where you are mistaken (I took today off to prep my theater for the new projector and have nothing better to do anyway)

I agree completely. FedEx does deliver to residential addresses on Saturday. If PP would have shipped my projector on Wednesday using the correct service (FedEx Home Delivery) they probably would have delivered on Saturday.


Fed Ex Home Delivery is Tuesday thru Sat.

PP shipped the projector via Fed Ex Ground. You have to specify the Ground HOME DELIVERY service. Granted, the Ground - home delivery snafu could be the shipping dept. problem.


I don't live in a remote area. I checked it with the tracking number online and by calling Fed Ex to confirm this was a Domestic Ground package not a Ground Home delivery package.


Additionally, I specifically gave Stacy my cell phone number because I was concerned about not getting it by Saturday. And on the original order call on Tuesday evening, I expressed concern to you over getting it before or on Saturday.


Regardless, you are misinformed about the fed ex services and you should have called me to rectify the situation as I requested. Now you know, and perhaps the next customer will benefit.

I was more upset that she wanted to argue with me about how she handled the sale and followup and the shipping misinformation than I was about not getting the projector.

As I have the Z-5, I really feel sorry that you missed the games over the weekend, as it has been a great weekend to watch football this past weekend in all its glory with the 100+" screen. However, I hope you get your projector in time for next weekend when the Bears end the season for the Saints.

Update: called them after finally getting my phone back. They say that the bank had a different zip code for my address than the one I ordered to. After calling the bank, this was true. I had recently changed it at the bank itself, but it turns out they changed it for the savings account, but not the checking account. So VA gets a few points back for the bank's error.


Then they lose the **** out of them. They claim that they didn't have a phone number to call to get in touch with me. ********. I have the receipt to prove that they had my cell number.( Although my phone was 60 miles away, relatives were always in a position to answer it and email me back regarding the situation. My relatives knew exactly what was going on as I emailed them about the situation and asked them to keep an ear out for the phone. Checking the call log on the cell, I received no calls from Visual Apex.)


Also, VA insists that they emailed my LSU account. This may or may not be true. I have no emails from them, but I know that it's been fairly un-reliable in the past. That's exactly why my first two emails to them not only came from my YAHOO account, but they specifically mentioned to send responses to both the LSU email as well as the Yahoo account. So they may have sent it to the LSU account (which is what I put down as my email address in the order), but they sure as **** have terrible reading comprehension for not sending it to both.


I was waiting until the end before I rated VA on PJCentral. I figured there could be a respectable explanation. Maybe there was a fire. Maybe someone sent them a white-powdery substance in the mail that kept them out of the offices for the week. But NOPE. Pisspoor customer service is the exact reason I spent $85 to 2nd day air the projector and I won't have it until 8 days after the fact. I wasn't looking for an free merchandise for their screw up, but had they offered to fork over the extra ~$40 to ship it overnight, it would have gone a long way at satisfying me and showing that they were trying to make amends.
