I have been frustrated with dissapearing HD Directv for over a year now, mostly at night, sometimes worked great for several days, then nothing.

After swapping multiswitches, lnb's and 2 DCT100's, I called a local sat guru, took one look at the rig, say my home installed coax connectors, and isolated the problem.

Bad connectors all the way around, he replaced all of them, tightened the whole thing up and re-aimed for $50.00. He used a device to tell when the whole thing was lined up, I asked him if I needed to check the signal strength on the DTC, he said in a cocky tone "if you feel it is necessary". Of course I did, and 98% on 109, 91% on 119w.....HDNet looks great, no fade...

The moral is, before you start spending $$ on multiswitches etc...check your coax connections!

Thanks for all the help over the previous months!
