Hello folks,

It's been a while since I've posted here, luckily because everything's been going great. My next project is to add a little bit of automation to the theater. I would like to enable the Pronto to control the lights in the theater. When a movie is being watched, I would like a few lights to turn off and a few to dim down to a smooth level. I was thinking the best way to do this would be through the use of an X10 to IR transmitter like the one here coupled with a switchlinc like the one here . My question: will this work? Will I be able to set the lights to a preset dim via IR?

Thanks,

Dan

Link doesnt work. But you need and IR-543 (IR-X10 tranceiver)

You also need switches that support preset to level commands.

Some of the higher end switchlinc's do it, and the PCS smartswitches do it as well. Make sure your switch supports fade to off/on, that is a nice feature and is easy on the eyes. All of my switches in my home use that feature. Check out www.worthdist.com for some of the best prices

check out remotecentral.com for codes to use the pronto with the ir-543 unit and also more info on the subject.
