I just got a Momitsu 880DX player. The user manual said "DVD-880DX" but the label on the machine still has the old model "DVD-880".

So how can I tell if I really has the 880DX model ?

I took the number from the chips and searched the web. The big chips on the board are the two static memory, one eprom, one EM8500, and one Silicon Image DVI video chip. There are also some small chips.

I do not know where are the two DAC chips. Sorry I do not know electronic.

I have took some pictures. Could any 880 owner tells me if mine is the same or different than yours ?

Thanks!

Thank you Paul. It makes me feel better that my capacitor placement is different from the 880 model. My be I do have a 880DX.

Sorry, my photos are poor. May be some else which has a 880DX and a good camera can post some pictures here.
