The only 7.1 BD I own is Dawn of the planet of the apes. I recently went from 5.1 to 7.1 and just this week moved from the Onkyo to Yamaha. Both only are giving me 5.1

7 speakers and a sub

Your upside-down images (???) clearly show you're getting 7CH output so what's the problem?

sorry, they do not show upside down for me, otherwise I would have fixed them. The receiver info, second picture, shows the input as 5.1. Shouldn't it show 7.1?

Ensure the 7.1 audio track is selected on the BD and the BDP is enabled to pass 7.1 audio.

are my images really upside down? On three different browsers they are all right side up for me.


So in the one picture you can see that I have selected the DTS-HD track on the BD player, is there possibly another setting on the BD player I need to enable to let 7.1 happen?

I did it. After reading a little bit about the flaws of my BD player I went digging into the menus.

After doing that I now get 7.1

And just to be clear, PCM is better than bitstream for the most part, right?
