:rolleyes:Recording a News Broadcast I can play it back but I want to import it in to Sony Vegas Pro 12 to edit the spot we were in.

Under Product features I see the following: ideo Decoder: MPEG-2 MP at HL, MPEG-4 SP, ASP, H.264 HP at L4.1, DivX3.11, 4.X, 6.X, FLV format and VC-1, Video Resolution: 1080p, 1080u, 720p, 576p.

However the default video file is coming up as having an (.mts) file extension and Sony Vegas Pro will NOT import it.

How do I access the Video Decoder Function on the iview 3500stb so I can capture off air video under MPEG-4 OR MPEG-2 Formats

so Sony Vegas will allow it to be imported so I can work on it?

Please Help

Bots can harvest information from any publicly available web page, not just the pages on this forum.

A simple examination of the Vegas Pro 12 product page:

http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/vegaspro/techspec

reveals that it supports M2TS files, so perhaps changing the .mts extension to .m2ts will allow you to open the iView's recordings. One would think that a $600 piece of software would be smart enough to not rely on a file's extension to determine its content, but perhaps the solution is that simple.

You can't with this or any other DVR that I know of. None of these are professional recording devices for use in a studio. And surely not for $40.

Why don't you xfer the recording to a PC and use software to convert to what you need it be?

If you did a search first, you would of seen there already is a owners thread for this.
