12 or 14 should be fine for any application. Many people use 16 and 18. Just run 12 (like I did) and know you have overkill.

I run 12. I was just wondering if less or more would be better.

Thanks!
There is no goldren rule about how long speaker wire to run. Some people say use 10 for anything over 50 feet, some say that even 14 or 16 is fine for 50 feet.

I'd say don't worry about it, if you are running something really long like 60 feet, you might want to try 10 gauge to cover your bases.

I switch from 16 to 12 and I didn't notice any differences in my system over a 20 foot run.
Nope. If you run 12, you're fine unless you're running a hundred feet and/or trying to run a kilowatt amp.

In summary, virtually everyone uses a guage way higher than what is needed. Can it help? Nope. But it can't hurt :)
