I have a Showstopper 1000, and recently something came loose in my remote - its driving me crazy as it rattles around in there.

Tried to open the remote but couldn't figure it out. I took out the batteries and the screw that was behind them. But it doesn't just pop open. I tried squeezing the "bottom" piece pretty hard near the joint where it meets the top but nothing happened. I was afraid of breaking it.

How in the world to you open this bad boy.

Thanks all.

Carefully, very carefully.

Actually I've had good luck using a dull knife (butter knife/dinner knife). It's sorta like shucking a clam. Jam the edge of the knife into the separation and get the two sides to pop open, then work it around or leave it on one side keeping that side open and force another blade in on the other side till the two halves pop apart. I've also heard of people using a large screw driver but that usually buggers up the plastic pretty well.

Be patient and remember at first it may not seem so, but it can be done.
