How do I play DTS CDs through my HTPC ?

274 Views 7 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Al Sherwood
I have 2 HTPCs with M Audio 2496 cards.

I tried playing DTS cds with no luck. What am I doing wrong.

I can play DVDs with DTS sound tracks but CDs must be different.

Thanks!

DTS audio CD's are sampled at 44.1 KHz instead of 48 KHz like on DVD's. You'll need software that can bypass Windows K-Mixer. Do a search for kernel streaming and / or ASIO to get an idea of what you'll need.
A digital CD-reader plugin and an ASIO output plugin for Winamp is all you need.

Happy listening! :)

I probably already know the answer, is there a SACD plugin for WinAmp?
We all wish there was, unfortunately there is not.
SACD is heavily encrypted, and will most likely not be playable on a HTPC in the near future.
