How do i reset a 1252 to factory settings?

307 Views 8 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  matrix
I am having problems converging my 1252 beacuse the screen geometry is so bizzare, how do i reset everything back to the way it was shipped from the factory to get a new start. I am using a 120" screen, and that was the factory default, so it should be fairly simple if i can get it back.

Thanks

Can you please explain both operations? I am relatively new to the sony chassis, this being my second. Most of my experience was with barcos and electrohomes. I am not a newbie, been working with pjs for over 4 years, but it would make this install so much easier to start from scratch.

Thanks

Hans
To completely reset the settings to the factory default, do the following:

1) Press 'test' for a few seconds. You should get a message asking if you'd like to enter the serviceman control mode. Press arrow-up (yes) to do so.

2) Press arrow-left and arrow-right at the same time. You will be asked if you'd like to return to the previously saved mode. Press arrow-up (yes) to do so.

3) Repeat 2. Now you will be asked if you'd like to return to the factory presets. Press arrow-up (yes) to do so.

4) Keep 'memory' pressed for a few seconds. The data can then be stored in all memories and you can start from scratch.

Good luck!

By the way, if you don't have the install and operation manuals, then I suggest you download and read them. You can find them e.g. here .
