I don't currently own one of the Nvidea VIVO cards, but was wondering what advantages/disadvantages are there purchasing the Nvidea VIVO cards as opposed to the ATI All-in-Wonder cards?

The cards I am thinking about in particular is the

GAINWARD GeForce FX 5900 Video Card, 128MB DDR, 256-bit, DVI/VIVO, 8X AGP, Model "FX Ultra/1200 XP" -RETAIL for $223 at Newegg.com......

How is the TV quality and/or VCR quality on each card using the VIVO port?

How does that compare to say the ATI 9600 Pro ($217) or the ATI AIW RADEON 9800PRO Video Card, 128MB DDR, 256-bit, DVI/CATV/VIVO, 8X AGP -Bulk -OEM ($339)

What software does one use for the nVidia cards with VIVO? I'd like to test mine one.

Kiki-

Almost any recent video-capture software will work. If you have a DVD recorder drive, it probably came with a program. You can also probably download a demo from the WinDVD or PowerDVD sites, or perhaps something even was included with your Nvidia board.

ATi's TV out is immensely superior to any nvidia product (at least in my experience). Also if you go the AIW route, by getting the 9800 pro you'll get component output built right in.

Can't comment on nvidia capturing as I've never tried it.
