Looking at upgrading my HV system. I have looked at many receivers and I am also looking at getting a projector. Maybe the Z1, HS10 or the Z90. Anyway some receivers have up conversion of the video signal to component. My Dish PVR is S video and I would like to just run 1 set of cables to the projector. What/how are others hooking these projectors up to their other components? I have found other external units that do this as well. Are these any good?

My Denon 3803 does "component upconversion" but I don't care for the results. The picture is soft and colors are dull, and the internal deinterlacer in my LT-240 projector isn't so hot. I run all of my non-DVD sources through an IScan line-doubler, which deinterlaces the signal and converts it to component. The results that way are much better. Fortunately, the projector has two component inputs, one for the DVD player and one for the IScan.

Thanks for the information. I thnk this would be much better than the internals.
