Like yamaha 473, denon 1613, and onkyo nr414???? Running a 3.1 set up with klipsch gallery series ... 1 g-16 as center and 2 g-12 as l/r with velodyne vx-11 sub !!!


Is the marantz 1403 a good receiver under 500????

The 1403 fills a certain niche. It's obviously designed for those who need a slimmer receiver for lack of space. The 1403 doesn't really offer too much over the 1402 so you might want to review both feature sets to determine which model meets your requirements. The 1402 is going for $250-300 right now and a good deal (no networking however).

Dont need networking, dont need airplay, 3d pass through, 7.1 or even 5.1 just looking for a hdmi receiver with nice connections for a 3.1 setup!!!! Most important thing im looking for is great internals and pure clean sound!!!


Running hr24, samsung 55" led and apple tv!!!

If you don't need a slimline receiver, one of the full size Marantz receivers would be a better option.

I know this is an old thread but the 1403 takes an aftermarket power cord and

makes the nr1403 exceptional value.

Kind of like when you put an after market muffler on a Honda. Voila! Now, it's a sports car.
